Teetering Towards Dictatorship

Chaos is slowly engulfing people and organizations as they move away from conscience into an externalized, pressure-responsive state. The USA and much of the world at large is becoming ripe for mind control and ultimately dictatorship and tyranny.

Twitter poses risks for papers – Other Views – MiamiHerald.com.

I find this to be an interesting article, but I think it goes off in the wrong direction towards the conclusion.

The conclusion that the article’s author (Edward Wasserman) missed is that Twitter puts mass numbers of people in contact with mass numbers of people. Twitter is a sort of extension of podcasting, where ordinary people can easily communicate with a global niche audience.

Gone are the days where million-dollar printing presses, million-dollar studios and million-dollar transmitters guaranteed an information monopoly over a captive audience. Twitter is the extreme extension of people being able to exchange information directly, making the traditional middle-man useless and having little if any function.

The story is still developing. Check back in a few years to see where it leads.
